Advanced Technology Makes Minimally Invasive Dentistry Possible

Saving Your Time With Technology

Who would not want their dental appointments to go by a little faster and with a lot less discomfort? Many of us even avoid the dentist all together because we do not want to deal with the possibility of the dentist telling us we need to come back for costly and lengthy procedures. You cannot afford NOT to take care of your teeth. However, the good news is that with the technology available for patients today, your dental healthcare can be quick and painless – literally.

Advanced Technology

Dr. Craig Steichen offers a wide variety of advanced technology to our patients to provide the most comfortable experience possible while still delivering safe and effective dental healthcare. Advanced technology available at our office includes:

Cone Beam 3-D Imaging
You can enjoy a safer, faster, and more comfortable session for dental x-rays with the Cone Beam 3-D Dental Imaging System.

Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) is a special type of dental X-Ray used when traditional dental x-rays are not sufficient. If you can’t see it, you can’t treat it! 3D digital imaging technology allows Dr. Steichen to see more head and neck anatomy. CBCT imaging allows for more accurate diagnosis of oral pathologies that are harder to detect on 2D imaging systems that are common in other dental practices. CBCT imaging also improves treatment procedure planning to ensure problematic oral issues are not overlooked. This type of X-Ray is utilized in many situations such as airway evaluation, endodontic therapy (root canals), oral cancer evaluation, and oral surgeries.
1
Air Abrasion
AIR ABRASION Air abrasion is a drill-free method of removing decay and preparing a tooth for restoration with a steady stream of air and powder particles. This procedure saves healthy tooth structure and reduces the need for local anesthetic.
2
Microabrasion
We can gently remove stubborn yellow, white, or brown stains and spots on teeth with a mixture of pumice and hydrochloric acid.
3
DIAGNOdent
DIAGNODENT This diode laser is a light-emitting device with a digital readout used to detect cavities before they become a bigger and more costly problem.
4
Tekscan®
Dr. Steichen detects occlusal, or bite-related, problems with this diagnostic computerized equilibrium device. We can help prevent TMJ issues, worn teeth or restorations, recession, and sensitivity with this advanced piece of equipment.
5
Intraoral Camera
A wand-like lighted camera not much bigger than a pen takes high-resolution digital pictures in the darkest and most hardest-to-reach areas of your mouth. With images from an intraoral camera, you can see what the doctor sees for a better understanding of necessary treatment.
6
Digital Dental X-Rays
We cut down on appointment time and reduce radiation exposure by 90 percent with digital dental x-rays. The images are immediately displayed chairside for you to review with Dr. Steichen.
7
CEREC®
CEREC® allows Dr. Steichen to restore damaged teeth without the waiting time of traditional restorations. CEREC® crowns are created in our office in a matter of hours, using a metal-free milling technique.
